What ParkMark stores, and where

Parking locations, floor estimates, bay or pillar numbers, notes, photos and voice recordings are stored inside the app, on your device. Deleting a record deletes the photos and recordings attached to it. Deleting the app deletes all of it.

Photos and recordings you make in ParkMark stay in the app's own storage. They are not added to your photo library.

What we collect

Nothing. ParkMark has no sign-in and no backend, so the developer receives no parking data and no usage analytics. If you have turned on Share with App Developers in iOS Settings, Apple may send us aggregated crash and performance reports; those come from Apple and contain no parking data.

Permissions, and what each one is for

Location

Read once, at the moment you tap to save a spot. Auto Record is off by default; turning it on uses background location so the app can notice when you have parked.

Camera

Optional. Photograph a pillar number, an exit or a nearby sign.

Microphone and Speech Recognition

Optional. Record a short voice note. Transcription happens on the device.

Motion & Fitness

Optional. Barometer readings estimate which level of a car park you are on. Processed on the device.

Notifications

Optional. Only for parking reminders you set yourself.

ParkMark keeps working if you decline any of these, minus the feature involved.

The only two things that touch the network

Neither carries your parking records.

1. Map imagery

When you open the map, ParkMark requests map tiles for the area on screen from CARTO. That request reveals your IP address and the approximate area you are looking at, which is roughly where you parked. It carries no plate number, floor, bay number or note.

2. Advertising

A banner appears on the history screen, served by Google AdMob. ParkMark always asks for non-personalised ads (npa=1), so ads are not selected using a profile of you, and the app never shows the App Tracking Transparency prompt. Google still processes technical data such as IP address, device type and coarse IP-derived location in order to serve, measure and fraud-check the ad. See Google's advertising policy.

Children

ParkMark is rated 4+ but is not directed at children, and it contains third-party advertising.

Your choices

Because we hold nothing about you, there is nothing for us to export or erase on request. You control all of it from the device: delete a record, or delete the app. For the data Google processes for advertising, use the Google policy linked above, and iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

If this policy changes we will update this page and the date above.
